The Wishbone Chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner, often referred to as the master of Danish chair design. It has been in continuous production at Carl Hansen & Søn since 1950, coveted by generations for its simplicity, organic shape and timelessness.

Hans Wegner first drew up the CH07 Shell Chair in 1963, and after a 30-year hiatus, Carl Hansen & Son re-released the Wegner Shell Chair in showrooms again in the ’90s. Hans Wegner’s CH07 Shell Chair, also known as the Smiling Chair, is renowned for its timeless style and its generous comfort.

Efter Carl tog hans son, Holger Hansen, över. Även han var en möbelsnickare av rang som växt upp med tillverkning av möbler. Holger var inte sen att plocka upp flera av de lovande, danska designers som dykt upp efter andra världskriget. 1949 inledde han ett samarbete med Hans J.
